Why real estate?

It's one of my passions.

Every person is unique.

Every property is unique.

Every day is different.

And the smile as you reach home ..... that's what being in real estate means to me.

For more than 20 years I have been involved in real estate because I love it. We not only express ourselves through our real estate but we also seek a lifestyle which makes a smile cross our faces when we pull into the driveway. Ahhhhh.... we are home.

As the grand-daughter of Greek and Czech immigrants, I heard stories of the American Dream. Owning property was and is important. Where better to host a get-together or enjoy a retreat?

Even in paradise...

Today's market is certainly different than those we've known. Roughly one-third of recent national sales have involved "distressed properties" which sold via a "short sale" or were lost to foreclosure. (National Association of Relators® survey.)

Some of these waters are relatively unknown to homeowners and buyers. Many of these terms are like a foreign language. Here, in a very simple form, are three we hear used often:

"Distressed Properties" = The homeowner/borrower is under Financial Distress which affects the ability to pay the mortage on the property.

"Short Sale" = The proceeds from the sale of the property won't cover the balance of the mortgage.

"Foreclosure" = The property is taken from the homeowner/borrower with serious credit repercussions.

In case the situation warrants, my skills and Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource Certification (SFR) are assets to navigate successfully through these transactions.
